0:03 With Retool, it's easier than ever to
bring AI into your apps and workflows. 0:06 But to do that you'll first
have to connect your favorite 0:09 AI provider. Let's take a look at how that works. 0:12 From within your Retool account, click
on Resources and then choose Retool AI. 0:16 If your account's brand new, you'll notice the
Retool managed OpenAI integration is enabled. 0:20 While this makes it super easy
to get started with AI in Retool, 0:23 once you're ready to ship your app to production
you'll need to provide your own credentials. 0:27 If you want to use one of Retool's
built-in AI providers like Anthropic, 0:31 you can just go down here, click
on Setup and paste in your API key. 0:36 Once that's in, make any modifications you need to 0:38 the base URL or add custom
headers to your API call. 0:41 Click on update and you'll
see Anthropic has now been 0:44 enabled and all of Anthropic's models are
available to use anywhere inside of Retool. 0:48 Outside of the AI providers that Rachel
natively supports, you can also configure 0:52 custom providers as long as they use either the
OpenAI, Anthropic, Google or Cohere API schemas. 0:58 This means you can use large language
models from companies like Mistral, 1:01 DeepSeek and Open Router right inside
of your Retool apps and workflows. 1:05 To do that, scroll down to custom providers
and click on add. Enter the provider name, 1:10 choose the schema that it uses and
enter the base URL for the API. 1:18 After you do that add in any custom headers
that you need for your API call. This will 1:22 most likely be your authorization
header which includes your API key. 1:26 Then you have to define the models
that this provider supports. In this 1:29 case we want deepseek-chat and deepseek-reasoner. 1:36 Once you have those defined, click on add
and your custom provider will be added. 1:40 This means the models you just defined are now
available to use anywhere in your Retool account. 1:44 And just like that you have an
AI provider configured in Retool. 1:47 In a future video, we'll take a look at how
to use AI inside your apps and workflows. 1:51 See you next time!
